ARTIST STATEMENT

It is always a pleasure to discover the little things in life such as ants lining up to carry leaves and seeds, bees collecting nectar, and fragile, tiny flowers reaching for the sunlight. I still pay attention to these important details. Art helps me to stay observant and allows me to communicate my curiosity and ideas. Sometimes I cannot explain in words, so I draw.

I use various media for expression – graphite pencils, oil paints, pastels, and ink. I enjoy creating still life compositions that illustrate a story through my choice of detail, weight, tension, and movement. Inspired by Walt Disney cartoons and the great animator, Aaron Blaise, I am learning digital media and animation software in order to bring movement and motion further into my work. Moreover, these recent years I more explore the digital world of illustration, graphic design, photography and videography.
